Laboratory of Molecular Biology

The research carried out in the Laboratory of Molecular Biology focuses on changes in expression of genes and proteins under pathological conditions, such as myocardial infraction and heart failure, hypertension, chronic stress, obesity and renal failure. It is equipped with two Viia 7 (Life Technologies) systems allowing the examination of gene expression by RT-PCR (Real Time PCR), and  examination of genes by  High Resolution Melt (HRM) for analysis of methylation, genotyping and mutation screening. The equipment for ELISA (Biorad) and Western Blot systems are used for the quantitative and qualitative evaluation of protein concentration as well as comparison of protein levels in various biological samples.
